4 Week Series

Series Overview:
Make Room
A Christmas Series

The Christmas story makes room for the most unexpected characters.

These are the people God used to welcome his own Son. And, not only that, the baby was born on the floor of a dirty, grimy garage in a tiny town that didn’t show up on most ancient maps, because none of Joseph’s family opened their doors to them. Luke and the other gospel writers resisted every temptation to make the location of Jesus’ birth and the characters in the story better than they really were.  Why?

Jesus came to “make room.”

Jesus came to make room for those everyone considers unorthodox and unusual, and those with doubts.

Jesus came to make room for the poor, the troubled, and those everyone writes off, whose live are simply a mess

Jesus came to make room for the marginalized - those others see as unclean and unfit - those others would rather forget.

Jesus came for immigrants, the curious, those looking for answers and hope.

Jesus came to make room for those who came from small places, with family stories they’d rather mention, who believe their stories are too insignificant to matter.

This Christmas - remember this: God sent his Son into this world to “make room” - to make room for people like you and me. And so that the church is that community that makes clear: Jesus came to make room for all!
