Series Overview:
Reimagine Christmas

November 27, 2023 - December 17, 2023
4 Week Series

This time of year is stressful. Amen? Think about how we spend our days this time of year?  We’re running to buy presents. There are lights to be hung. Baking to be done. Don’t forget the Elf on the Shelf. And the list goes on and on. It’s a season where there’s never enough time, never enough energy and never enough money to get it all done.

Was it supposed to be like this?

Not only that, think about the Christmas messages we grew up with and now use on our own kids: Santa Clause is keeping a list, and he knows who is naughty and who is nice! Which list are you on? ‘Cuz who wants a lump of coal in their stocking? As a kid, you spent the holidays terrified that you weren’t going to get anything from Santa. We use all kinds of tricks this time of year to modify our children's behavior.  Parents, we use Christmas as behavior modification.

But, was it supposed to be like this? Is this what it’s all about?

Truth be told, God was never into busy or behavior modification. In fact, Christmas isn't at all about a God who is "watching you." And God never intended for the arrival of God’s Son to lead to Christmas stress for all eternity.

This year, we’re going to “Reimagine Christmas.”

Because, Christmas… It's about a God who "comes to be with us" whatever our circumstance. A God who comes to give you “peace.” A God who comes as the “light of the world.”  A God who comes for “all people.” Christmas is about a God who comes to bring “peace on earth.”
