3 Week Series

Series Overview: Emotions

As summer comes to an end, we have so many emotions. We’re sad that our summer vacation days are numbered. Excited and anxious about a new school year, a new rhythm, a new pace. We’ve got all the “feels” these days.

Our emotions are electric. Powerful. At times, overwhelming. Because of their power, we go to great lengths to avoid, harness, control, even stuff, our emotions.

Here’s the truth about emotions:  Joy. Sadness. Anger. Compassion. God has given each of us the capacity to feel deeply. Even Jesus had emotions.

Jesus wept. It’s the shortest sentence in the Bible but it reveals so much about who Jesus was. He was not aloof, or distant from the people he met. He was present. He wept. He felt…deeply. The Bible shows us many examples of Jesus’s emotions: love, compassion, righteous anger, sadness, and more.

What if emotions aren't a curse to avoid but a gift to embrace?

In this series, we’ll remember our emotions are a gift from God.

Just maybe… having all the feels isn't so bad after all.

(We will be uploading video sermons and materials for download each week as they become available!)
